Vola 112 One Handle build in mixer Tap
Vola 112 One Handle build in mixer Tap - One-handle build-in mixer with ceramic disc technology.
The Vola by Arne Jacobsen 112 One Handle build in mixer Tap is available in brushed stainless steel, high polished chrome, brushed chrome, natural brass and 14 bright colours.
Designed in 1968, the first VOLA mixer, the 112, is the essence of Arne Jacobsen’s pared back form, a circle within a circle, bisected by a simple line
The Designer: Shortly after Arne Jacobsen won a competition in 1961 for his design of the National Bank of Denmark he was contacted by the owner of VOLA A/ S, Verner Overgaard, who introduced his proposal for a new type of wall-mounted mixer tap. He imagined a design where all the mechanical parts of the mixer are hidden leaving only the handles and spout exposed, for the time a completely new concept.
Through his work, Arne Jacobsen left his mark on generations of architects and thus helped build a special Scandinavian architectural tradition that is characterised by exemplary thoroughness from the general to the very specific. Very few Danes have achieved the broad international fame of Arne Jacobsen, who today stands for some of the best works produced in the 20th century, with an inherent quality that has ensured their sustainability into the new millennium.
The Brand: Celebrating continuity celebrating change, Vola intend to defend and develop their position as an exclusive design brand, representing the best of Scandinavian design. They will always produce VOLA taps and mixers in Denmark and They'll always use the highest quality raw materials. They will take care to preserve resources such as energy and water. While respecting their design heritage, they will invest in new product development to reinforce their leadership status. Even revolutionary design can benefit from technology led evolution.
Arne Jacobsen
Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) is one of the most acknowledged Danish architects and designers worldwide. With an astounding curiosity, originality and creativity Arne Jacobsen played an important role in modernism and the Danish design history and present-day designers are still highly influenced by his works. With an educational background within architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Arne Jacobsen had an extraordinary understanding of proportion that he applied to his works. With a keen eye for detail, he undertook architectural projects that included all elements of interior design, creating visionary and fully coherent concepts. Most of his famous furniture designs like “the Ant”, “the Swan” and “the 7 Series” chair were originally created for architectural projects. Arne Jacobsen designed the award-winning cocktail and tableware series Cylinda-line for Stelton in 1967, and it has become the essence of Stelton’s design DNA. Cylinda-line was recognised with the ID-prize 1967 by The Danish Society of Industrial Design and The International Design Award 1968 by The American Institute of Interior Designers.
