The Menageri series is now launching a bottle opener and a corkscrew in exclusive dark walnut. Both items are beautifully finished and lovely to the touch, so every time you open a bottle, you enjoy an aesthetic and tactile experience. The handle is exquisite and both the corkscrew and bottle opener fit nicely in your hand. You both see and clearly sense Kay Bojesen's signature round, soft design language.

Collectors and connoisseurs will immediately recognise the bottle opener and corkscrew, which are both original Kay Bojesen designs and are now being relaunched in dark walnut – a beautiful contrast to the shiny steel. A small, discreet logo is embossed in the oil-treated wood. It accentuates the grain of the wood and adds durability.

Kay Bojesen

Kay Bojesen is one of the big Danish designers. He was able to turn wood into original stories like no other. He had a knack for bringing the wood to life. Or as he put it: “Making the line smile”. And the lines certainly smile in each of the Wooden Animals – which have all become iconic.

Kay Bojesen
About the brand

When the Kay Bojesen brand was founded back in 1932, it marked the start of a story about a craftsman with a great sense of humour and plenty of curiosity. Kay Bojesen created his animals and figures based on the philosophy that good design should be accessible to everyone, and over time Kay Bojesen has become synonymous with original Danish design.
Kay Bojesen is the epitome of original Danish design; his soft, round shapes and smiling lines create original stories in wood. Kay Bojesen’s designs have always been based on the world of children. A world full of curiosity and imagination, which has inspired many of the iconic characters we know today.
