Olaf Von Bohr
Olaf Von Bohr is an Austrian designer born in Salzburg in 1927. After learning the woodworking process and furniture production, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, graduating in 1951. Von Bohr went on to work for leading Austrian design companies, including Thonet and Wiesner-Hager. He is known for his modernist furniture designs, which combine simple geometric forms with natural materials such as wood, leather and metal. In addition to his furniture design work, Von Bohr has also worked on interior architecture and graphic design projects. He was also professor of industrial design at Vienna's University of Applied Arts for several years. Von Bohr is considered one of the most influential Austrian designers of his generation, having contributed to the Austrian modernist movement with his innovative furniture creations. He died in 2012 at the age of 85.
