Alessi Salt Pepper and Spice Grinder by Ettore Sottsass
Salt Pepper and Spice Grinder by Ettore Sottsass may be the best Alessi design of a wooden product!
World-famous designer Ettore Sottsass and his team designed several wood products for Alessi as early as the 80s and 90s, so that Sottsass is able to look back onto a rich sum of experiences for the design of this pepper mill. In combination with his unique genius, the Pepper Mill MP0210 was created; Alessi names this as possibly the best design of an Alessi wooden product.
The MP0210 Pepper Mill is created using a classic wood rotating technique and convinces through its soft and organic shapes. The curvature is pleasant for your hands and also has a calming visual effect in combination with the warm colours.
Part of the Twergi collection
Since 1989, Alessi has been reviving the centuries-old manufacturing tradition on the lathe. Many young designers were fascinated by the simplicity of the tool and have since designed various wooden products together with the famous designer Ettore Sottsass. The Twergi collection includes pepper mills, corkscrews, tins and bowls.
The Twergi pepper mill by Alessi is made in Italy from FSC-certified beech wood and is available in different colours.

Ettore Sottsass
Born in Innsbruck in 1917, he is known the world over as one of the initiators of the revolution in architecture and design which led away from the rigid functionalism of the years prior to and following the Second World War. A great and influential Maestro of Italian design, the energy of his language and the vitality of his colour and line contrast sharply with any intellectualism and rigidity. He dies in December 2007.
