Born in Japan's Yamanashi Prefecture in 1956, Naoto Fukasawa graduated from Tama Art University in 1980. An industrial designer of international acclaim, Fukasawa's designs meld aesthetic simplicity with a useful purpose.

A host of high-profile collaborations is testament to the influence of Fukasawa's designs, including a long and productive relationship with Japanese retail manufacturer Muji. His minimalist, objective approach highlights the functionality of his products without sacrificing character.

Now Professor of Integrated Design at Tama Art University, Naoto Fukasawa influences the design world through more than just his products.
